Personal and Professional History

Koji Tanabe’s passion for design began during his student years when he designed a chair and showcased it at a furniture exhibition. This early experience ignited his career in design, leading him to become an in-house designer for a furniture manufacturer, where he worked for 15 years. Eventually, as the manufacturer’s vision solidified, Koji decided to offer his expertise as a freelancer, giving rise to PLOW DESIGN.

Creative Process and Working Methods

Koji’s design approach is hands-on and tactile. While he utilizes computer simulations, he emphasizes the importance of creating full-scale models simultaneously. This method allows him to think and innovate through physical interaction with his designs. His motivation stems from a deep-seated passion for crafting functional yet aesthetically pleasing pieces.
