Born in 1927, he graduated in 1952 from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of Brazil, now the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Sergio was responsible for relaxing the house and the way of sitting, breaking the rigidity of the stick style. In 1955, he created Oca, a mix of store, studio and art gallery. Located at Praça General Osório, in Ipanema, the space featured Dominici lamps, fabrics by artist Fayga Ostrower, furniture by Forma and pieces signed by him. The space then became a meeting point for intellectuals.
